Apply today for the IMF Summer Internship 2022-23, which is fully funded. The International Monetary Fund Internship will cover all expenses. Paid Internships in the United States are available for Undergraduates and Graduates, Ph.D. students, and LLM and J.D. Students at the IMF. International students from all around the world can apply. Each year, around 50 students from around the world gather at the IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. These paid internships last 10 to 12 weeks between June and October. The IMF provides a very competitive stipend, a round-trip air ticket to Washington, D.C., and a travel allowance for medical coverage.

Internship Fields at IMF

The IMF has job vacancies in Economics, Research, Legal, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Communications, as well as international economics, public finance, financial markets, economics, or a related discipline.

Internship in the IMF’s Economic Field

You should have studied monetary and international economics, public finance, financial markets, economics, or a similar topic before applying for the Economic internship.

Internship in the IMF’s Legal Department

If you want to be considered for the Legal Department Internship, you must be:

Within one to two years of receiving an LLM, J.D., or similar postgraduate law degree.

Benefits of IMF Summer Internship

Internships at the IMF are compensated. Participants in the FIP receive:

Eligibility Criteria

If you are presently working on your Ph.D., you must be:

  • Registered as an active student (i.e. returning to university studies after completing the internship)
  • At the beginning of the internship, you must be under the age of 32.

If you are presently pursuing a Master’s degree, you must be:

  • Within one to two years of obtaining an LLM, J.D., or comparable postgraduate degree in law. Under the age of 32 when the internship begins.
