Fully-funded International PhD Fellowships in Deep Learning, Denmark: Two fully supported PhD fellowships in Predictive Modeling of Ecosystems and Theory and Application of Deep Learning for Remote Sensing Data are being offered by the Machine Learning Section of the Department of Computer Science (DIKU).

The first PhD will concentrate on brand-new deep learning techniques for the processing of data from remote sensing satellites and drones (images and 3D point clouds).
To create ecosystem models with high spatiotemporal accuracy, the second PhD will concentrate on merging physical modelling, machine learning (in particular deep learning), and effective computation.

  • Within the normal PhD programme (5+3 system), the PhD programme is a three-year full-time study.

Eligibility Criteria for Fully-funded International PhD Fellowships

You must have finished a degree programme that is equal to a Danish master’s degree (180 ECTS/3 FTE BSc + 120 ECTS/2 FTE MSc) in the field of the project, such as computer science, in order to be eligible for the standard PhD programme.

Responsibilities and tasks in the PhD programme

  • carry out a supervised independent research project
  • Complete PhD coursework equal to about 30 ECTS or 12 FTE.
  • Engage in active research situations, such as spending time at a different research facility, preferably abroad.
  • Activities involving learning and sharing of information
  • Write scientific articles for high-impact publications.
  • Incorporate your project into a PhD thesis that you write and defend.
