UNO Intern-Public Information has been announced for applicants to apply. The internship is in the Social Media Section, Communications Campaigns Service, Strategic Communications Division of the Department of Global Communications.

Duration of UNO Intern-Public Information

The internship if for 3 three months with an opportunity for extension up to six (6) months

Responsibilities of UNO Intern-Public Information

Within delegated authority, the public information intern may be responsible for the following duties:

– Research, compile, draft and edit basic information for use in the preparation and production of social media content, often under tight deadlines.
– Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content.
– Gather social media content at special events (film screenings, concerts, exhibits, etc.).
– Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and LinkedIn.
– Attend meetings as an observer.
– Manage meeting agendas and draft meeting notes.
– Assists with special projects as assigned.

Education required for UNO Intern-Public Information

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations New York Headquarters Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:

1. Applicants must: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).

2. Be computer literate in standard word processing and spreadsheets software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel or similar. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
